My March spread is actually ready on time this month ✅ I went with some slightly witchy vibes. All other habit tracking is off the table this month- book 3’s edit deadline is 3/19. I have ten chapters left and final details after family read. Wish me luck 💀

Readers of The Switchboard will recall that Kit wears a very specific hairpin attached to a length of Switchboard audio cable. With today’s package I am one step closer to making it real- even if it will hurt to cut the cable off this vintage headset! #writingcommunity 📚💙🪐

Space flight and space walks by humans were made possible by Joe and his fellow skydivers who tested the functionality of early pressure suits at high altitudes. Thank you for your service, Colonel Kittinger!

I was completely locked into the livestream of Felix Baumgartner’s freefall in 2012. During the stream, Kittinger was interviewed and acted as Felix’s mentor. They were breaking Joe K.’s record set 52 years before! He lived a wild and incredible life.

On the eve of book 2’s release and the anniversary of his passing, I’m happy to celebrate Kit’s namesake: Joseph Kittinger 🪂 This man was a true aeronaut, with multiple records for skydiving and ballooning under his belt, but I ‘met’ him during the Red Bull Stratos project. #writingcommunity #💙📚

I gave myself permission to pause writing at 30k words. Book 2 comes out on 10/10. Book 3 is in family read/major edits. Holidays are coming. I’m busting my butt to get our shop updated for Black Friday. I finally accepted that I loaded my plate too high. But I’ll be back soon. #writingcommunity

Today I gave myself permission to not write, to get a little behind. In exchange I signed up for cover reveals and release lists. I did important insurance paperwork. It took a Monster and a little bit of despair before the caffeine kicked in, but I think I’ll write tomorrow after all. #amwriting

I’m self-published, and I chose control. My series has at least five books planned (inc. prequel and end novella) and there was no guarantee a publisher would take all of it. Also, I knew exactly what I wanted for covers! Still open to trad next time though…✨

Got to 29k words yesterday on my continued quest to stay two days ahead! I uh…hit the muddy middle really fast because I cut a bunch from the early scenes. I’m sure THAT won’t be a problem later.

I really miss the structured community- I don’t think anything is a big enough replacement (yet). But the more we participate, the better these alternatives will be!

#writingmonth update: cats flooded the master bed/bath yesterday. House in total chaos. 4K owed in insurance deductibles. Smell of wet everything thickening the air. Somehow I am still at 13.6k words. Not the writing vacation I hoped for, but writing nonetheless.
