a lot of power built into this thing and with a really nice modern interface. little touches like being able to assign any tool to right click, being able to import palletes from images, being able to easily customize the sprite sheet export, etc. apparently its got tilemap support too. super neat

I'll admit to not liking aseprite that much. nothing against it or the people that work on it but it's always felt a little clunky and old-fashioned. I've tried a bunch of different alternatives each with their own problems and friction but genuinely I think Pixelorama is my new home.

I feel a similar way about writing too. illustration, writing, performance, etc. these things I enjoy in the abstract but don't think I really have the voice for it. not to say that I'll never write again and I do feel the spark for a short story every now and then but it can't be my focus.

I've really finally determined that while I do have the capacity for drawing within me illustration is just not a skill I am ever going to truly develop. and that's not sad, its in fact good for me to solidify what forms of expression I actually feel the spark for.
