iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Reposted by Ronyo the Windfox

Thank you to everyone for supporting the first issue of our zine. Sadly, we have been contacted about, and further investigated, an author who has expressed views conflicting those the Transform Fiction team stand for. We'd like to publish a statement regarding this.

It has come to light that one author in Issue #1 has expressed views (shared to us after publication by members of the community, as well as in an FA journal they themselves posted after our story selection phase) which do not represent Transform Fiction, nor our aim of bringing together furry writers. We have made amendments to the zine to reduce the impact of this individual. The team is reviewing our story selection process to avoid this happening again in future.

Transform Fiction values the self-expression that the theme of transformation offers to explore who we are within a diverse, beautiful world of possible forms. We want our zine to provide a space for authors to share their stories in an era which (perhaps increasingly) is hostile to creative self expression. While some call to "keep politics out of furry," they speak from a place of privilege to exclude thoughts, ideas, or people that they themselves have labelled as too different. Transform Fiction stands up for all members of the community. We've made a mistake, are making improvements, and hope our zine can become a creative spark that empowers our writers and readers.

We’ve gotten back into film over here. And… eeyup.

...which is hilarious when I remind myself that I have a pen name so I can't exactly leave these on my coffee table IRL.

Printed four copies but only three covers. And then messed up the crop/bleed on those covers and had to go back to manual measuring. But I still got two copies stapled and cut! Not bad for ~$7, and the first story I’ve made a hard copy of.

Two fully-assembled and stapled copies of “An Image In Mind” along with an unassembled copy with a too-small cover and another copy without a cover. They are laid out over a paper cutter and a right-angle stapler on a dark wood table.

Hey so your handle on lighting and shading is really impeccable. I legit had a hard time at first glance figuring out what was going on because you made it look so real. Also great fit!

Wow, that is crap. You'd think the NFL would be better at white-labeling their own stuff!

Free time to stand in line, money to spend on tickets, and the ability to stand for many hours in a parking lot in the midday South Carolina sun. We were so bummed we couldn’t go. Very complicated, and I don’t know what the answers are. I just wanted to note that this is *already happening.*

Re: gigs: Phoebe Bridgers did a tour of surprise shows at small venues this summer: each show was announced day-of and with in-person ticketing only. She came to my city, and by the time the box office opened the line was multiple blocks long in the direct sunlight.

No lie, this film was really huge IMO for actually showing Sunset Shimmer's shift from villain to hero—including the way she was treated by the other characters—and making it believable.

I’ve got some very basic ideas for a Magiclike, and the biggest one revolves around “balance the game as if everyone has access to every card.” And then sell a base playset of every card. Do special editions (foil, alt art) in the loot boxes.

You can choose status quo, or you can make a difference. I’m calling on my fellow #twitch #streamers, #artists, creatives, #gamedev to encourage others to register to vote. According to statistics, our generations are not voting. We could do so much if we did. Band together, keep us safe.

I’ve already got my speech planned. “I hate that y’all are starting a union because it feels like I’ve failed at building a safe environment. But I also recognize that, if this works, I won’t be in charge forever, and this will keep things going for y’all. So… let’s go!”

Ok but the first half of Studio 60 kinda slaps. I still have the exchange about the Santa statue go through my head: - Well, now it’s all I can see. - IT’S ALL ANYONE CAN SEE! So yeah, I’m here for Muppet Studio Sixty.

Almost every counterpoint to the above I’ve ever heard of can be challenged by the rebuttal: “have you ever considered that a group might be trying to influence you to not vote?” These midterms are going to be incredibly important everywhere. This isn’t time to leave things to chance.

I shot fireworks with some friends growing up. There was one friend that we all joked that if they were running, you needed to immediately run with them because they only run if it’s Seriously Bad. Thats the vibe I’m getting here.

Just a heads up. I was able to schedule my COVID vaccine appointment. Online it may ask “do you have a condition that puts you at high risk for severe outcomes from COVID-19 virus.” Click yes and it will allow you to schedule an appointment. No questions asked. No proof required. Pass it on.

Oh, I get it now. If you’re used to “y’all” as a word in the context of written communication, then it’s read as “Dolly used all of you people.” But the authorial intent was “Dolly used the word ‘y’all.’” (Seeing this, they casually threw away a large rock.) 😇

It's understandable for people to be deeply upset about this, because the framing of this summary card is really misstating the scope and implication of the ruling. The actual ruling is narrowly drawn (and caused by several really bad choices the prosecution made in prosecution!)
