It's cool to spend a couple of hours in the basement making my own guitar hardware (control knobs and strap buttons)

When you're doing a woodworking project the stakes for fucking up get higher at each step because of all the work gone into it to that point. Anyway, one of the last steps in making a guitar body is this insane hole (and you make 2 of them). (it came out perfectly) (luckily)

1987 I think? I was still a pretty new in town after moving here for college. I heard about a show at First Avenue (where I’d never been), some local band the Replacements. It sounded fun but when I saw the ticket line stretched 2/3 the way around the block I decided it wasn’t worth the wait.

1 I heard GOP gov candidate Lisa Demuth say she is going to lower property taxes. Knowing a lot about county finance, I was curious how the state could lower property taxes. Tax credits, of course, is part of her plan, but that doesn't lower taxes - it just shifts whose paying & adds paperwork.
