The first signs of spring are arriving with Snowdrops emerging from their annual slumber🌱 Though considered unlucky to bring into the house across the UK, parts of the Welsh Marches were an exception to this rule; with Snowdrops brought in to purify the house from Winter❄️. #folklore #welshmarches

Who doesnt love lambs?🐑 Their joyous frolicking amongst the tranquil, spring kissed landscape encapsulates the essence of hope, innocence and renewal🌺🌸🌼. Every gentle bleat heralds in brighter days & the reminder that lambs are considered one of the most magical animals in the Welsh Marches ⬇️

Are you looking for an easy way to bring about more prosperity into your life? Look no further than the Mince pie🥧. In Welsh Marches lore eating one mince pie on each of the 12 days of Christmas🎅🎄 would secure you good luck for the new year. #witchsky #folkloresky #christmassky #pagansky

Tintern Abbey is often frequented by spectral monks & echoes of the Devil. With every step the land reverberates with his presence, recounting the times he preached upon the nearby outcrop (The Devils pulpit), tempting the monks of Tintern to submit to a life of delicious wickedness & sin😈 #witchsky

The harvest moon was so bright last night in all of her silvery splendour😍. Known as Lleuad y cynhaeaf/ Lleuad y Naw Nos Olau, this phase was particularly adored amongst reapers who harvested the last crop under her guidance, hence the name "the moon of the nine light nights" Blessings everyone 🌕

Today marks the feast of Mary Magdalene, a woman who is the embodiment of hope, devotion, love & empowerment. Her Church⛪️, built upon the site of the 1403 battle of Shrewsbury, stands as a place of silent, melancholic commemoration for the 1,600 people buried there💀. #folkloresky #historysky

A handy way to protect your house from malevolent forces is to use threshold patterns. In the Welsh Marches a poultice was created with Oak, Dock & sometimes Elder leaves🍃 which would then be used to draw interlacing circles or crosses upon the threshold🚪.This would then act as a barrier #witchsky
