My kid and I were in a building recently that they said gave off some "serious Backrooms vibes" so we took some photos for their art reference. Anyway - maybe you can use them too! Not my normal refs but if the kid says this is where it's at then who am I to say otherwise?!

a room, sort of. The walls don't go to the ceiling and there's 5 chairs along one wall and one in a corner opposite them and there's a TV mounted near the ceiling in the corner opposite the lone chair

a hallway with an open archway between segments and a bump in area that's all yellow for some reason and there's a fire extinguisher

a long dark hall with doors and windows off it and there's a glowing exit sign at the far end

a corner around which you can see part of a laundry basket and there's a coat rack with nothing on it and the wall nearest to the camera has some fraying edges of the wallpaper.

When reading I "see" the story unfurling like a play, and it's always comical when I've got a detail wrong (or it was missed in editing in the actual book) and suddenly the characters are scrambling to get into position, new set pieces rolling in, and then it's like OK now I can continue reading
