🌞🌙 Winesky now has a light theme! By default it follows your system settings (light / dark), so those of you used to the original dark theme may see a UI change when you first log in. You can also head into settings and pick whichever you prefer, if you'd rather stick to just one.

Spitballing about design… You reply to a wine post with “@winesky.app add”, and it adds it to your shopping list. It’s a public interaction, so they can live as a record on the PDS. It can even work if you haven’t signed up yet, because it’s attached to your ATmosphere account.

User testing surfaced something we didn't expect: most people don't photograph labels. They remember the wine later — at home, in a shop, halfway through conversation about a different bottle. So we built around that. 🧵 1/2

This is one reason why I was against showing a single average score for a wine @winesky.app. Eventually I plan to add a more personalized average. While the analysis feature will show average scores across multiple publications, it skews the notes more around when you'll like them (or not)

Did we mention that #Winesky can identify bottles without you having to zoom in on a label? (not to mention, extract information from multiple images) And that one was tricky, because the photo also has a glass with the name of a different brand of vermouth.
