Some bot account started spamming "great post 👏👏👏" replies on my posts...including the one I made about my cat dying tragically of an aggressive cancer. This cyberpunk era sucks absolute ass. No hover cars, no teleportation, not nearly enough punk. Just THIS kind of shit.

Right now my opinions are: - Breidablik is too funny not to use -Sirocco is just FE-style Dennis Reynolds, right? -Lots of this game is dark but I'm also about 65% percent sure that Dietrich is honestly, genuinely, going to try to fight the literal moon

this is one of those games where the simplicity mandated by a jam deadline was exactly what it needed. it's stark and raw and embodies the principle of writing about small moments to capture big themes like grief. proof that devan makes great art even when everything's awful. give it a play 🐈‍⬛

If a writer, especially a journalist, uses a single-line paragraph...pay attention to what's in that line. It's for emphasis. (This is also an easy way to spot LLM-generated text. It abuses the single line for exactly that reason. It doesn't understand restraint or contrast.)

Yeah, it was cancer--really sudden and really fast. Our vet said sometimes it's just like this, just tragic bullshit with no cure and no way to stop it early. Thank you for the well wishes 🫂. I'm glad other cats will enjoy his treats and toys as of today.

Today we donated Basil's things to an animal shelter. I expected to be a mess, but it was a nice time. They were really happy to get donations, and when we explained it was because our cat had died, and asked if we could maybe pet some cats while there, they let us, even without an appointment.

Thank you all for thinking of him, and for your well-wishes for him and us. Il Principe had no idea he was loved the world over and had so many people rooting for him--but he purred like he did. Our community has been very kind. We'll just be very sad for a long little while here.

My perfect little Basil is gone. It's agony to lose him so young and so cruelly. But it was a privilege to show him the kindness of the world after his rough start, and see him become a cat that was happy and secure. All he wanted was to love and be loved, and he did and was, until the very end.

I am typing on a laptop while Basil the black cat sits in my lap, under my arm. We are both looking up at the picture-taker with the same expression (smiling, but surprised to be photographed).

I just can't believe how fast this all happened. He's my best friend in the world. He would overcome any fear to be close to and love me; I watched this scaredy-cat succeed again and again. But we'll do everything we can to keep him comfortable and taken care of.

Yours truly and Basil the black cat cuddle lying down and look into the camera together.

He only just turned 7, so we're devastated. I hoped for 7 more years with him at least. But with meds and attention, he's doing OK right now. He still greets us in the morning, enjoys watching birds, and especially enjoys vet's permission for unlimited churus and cheeky little bites of human treats.

He has admirers here, so I wanted to share the crushing news that Basil has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. We took him to the vet at the first sign at something being off; she said there was no way we could've known. He had a biopsy and soon we'll find out if we're looking at months or weeks.
