I thought the model looked off so I revised it. focused more on shapes this time, I think it looks p ok. low poly best poly

a lineup of a character, they are rendered 5 times. Each render is the next step in the revision. The first is just the old character sculpt, the second is the character with different proportions, the 3rd is a quick sketch over those proportions, the 4th is a simplified shapey mannequin made with vector shapes, and the 5th is the revised sketch over the vector mannequin. The 5th is also split into 3 colors, red blue and green, to denote large, medium and small shapes. Why did I write all this. It's midnight on a friday. will I ever go on a date again?? I dont think so, i'm going to model 30 swords next month.

just a little progress today, spent most of my session farting around with the new nomad sculpt update. they added a thing that lets you link your blender and nomad together so you can work in both programs in real time, it's really cool. my set up is very We Have Zbrush At Home now.

finished my #psychonauts2 style self portrait. I don't have any psychic powers (yet..) but I am a bit of a foodie, so I modeled myself as a rival gastronaut. The badge is supposed to be a little stomach and intestines~ learned a lot, messed up a lot, but I think it's the best i've ever looked.

trying a different technique for the fleece, I think it's called polygon shell. you duplicate your geo and then increase opacity as you go up, so it looks like the fuzz is layering up. looks cool so far~

sculpting progress today on my self portrait. the sweater texture is placeholder- displacement of the smart material was too costly so I gotta learn how to do a polygon shell for the fleece. it never ends! it never fucking ends!! anyway i'm happy so far :) not about current events just this :) :) :)
