Me: I came up with "THE BOY WITH WILL WORN ON HIS WINGS" for the Prophecy in this AU and I thought it went hard
Also something I want to note that makes this specific iteration of Deltaswap unique
Is that Lightner characters swap. Darkner characters do not
I think it's more fun/interesting that way
So like Noelle and Berdly in this AU travel with Ralsei. Boy is absolutely perplexed because these are Not the Lightners he was expecting to show up
Or maybe like y'know. The Darkner characters don't necessarily swap positions, but their circumstances change. Like Tenna is Noelle's TV now and Queen is Kris' Laptop n whatnot
(Idk if Queen is Noelle's Laptop in canon? She probably isn't but like. Yeag)
Noir: I think queen is the library's?
Me: There's also the obvious Dess and Asriel swap and all the baggage that comes with That
Random note I sent to Maxis. Instead of a knife like canon!Kris, what Noelle carries around all the time in this AU is a hand-me-down wiffle bat from Dess

Since I want to write him I'm trying to think of how I would characterize Berdly in this AU. I don't want him to just be like. Susie 2.0. I want him to be unique
I try to write Susie so that like. She's obviously still Susie and acts like Susie but circumstances have turned her in a similar breed of pedantic nerd as Berdly
Joe: Oh I meant to say at some point that I really appreciate that you write your swaps like that
Me: Oh yea!!! I think it's just kinda lazy to do like whole personality exchanges. It's more interesting if you keep the character intact or mostly intact and just change their circumstances
Joe: I was on ground floor when the swap verses first started and like, you know, people fall too easily in the trap of making characters basically just act like who they're replacing
Me: The vibe I get from canon!Susie is that she's a closet nerd and doesn't want to admit how many dorky interests she has. So basically swap!Susie is like what if Susie didn't feel like she had to hide those interests and had like. More positive reinforcements from adults in school. It's turned her into a different kind of bad student where instead of being a delinquent and bullying others she just doesn't try and lauds all of her work onto Kris. Because years of being built up as a smart student by teachers made her lazy and feel like she doesn't need to try
Pretty similar circumstances to canon Berdly. Just different yk

It'd be easy to just make Kris exactly like canon Noelle but with. A Kris coat of paint but nawww they are not like that. They are nice and friendly like canon!Noelle but not as much of a pushover, and kind of the only one besides Berdly (in the events of Chapter 2) who can snap back at Susie when she's being a jerk. They're also still a huge prankster and in contrast to Noelle being obsessed with Christmas they're obsessed with Halloween and macabre things
So because of this. They would provide a Lot of resistance at first during this AU's Weird Route
Because. Y'know. Canon!Kris kinda has a few hang ups about being controlled! And Swap!Kris is not any different in this regard

Me: OHHH MAN I just realized since Darkners don't swap in this AU. Mannnn Ralsei would piss Berdly the hell off at first
Joe: Oh yeah, cause Ralsei is such the Knower
Me: Instead of y'know like Susie just ragging on Ralsei for being a nerd and goody-two-shoes. Berdly would do mental gymnastics and take all of Ralsei's teaching Personally
Noir: do you think there would be nerd stuff in berdly's room in the dark world
Me: Yes ❤️
Like a shelf full of viddy games and anime VHSes or something
Me: He would take offense not to the concept of ACTing but to the idea of him being too dumb to figure out all of the stuff Ralsei's trying to teach him and Noelle, and that's what would make him so rebellious like say, during the events of Chapter 1
