Whoa 🤯 The Moon, in full eclipse, with the #Artemis II Orion spacecraft. Part of the Moon and spacecraft are lit by Earthshine, and both Saturn and Mars are visible to the lower right. Incredible. Details: images.nasa.gov/details/art0...
[alt text by NASA] The Moon, seen here backlit by the Sun during a solar eclipse on April 6, 2026, is photographed by one of the cameras on the Orion spacecraft’s solar array wings. Orion is visible in the foreground on the left. Earth is reflecting sunlight at the left edge of the Moon, which is slightly brighter than the rest of the disk. The bright spot visible just below the Moon’s bottom right edge is Saturn. Beyond that, the bright spot at the right edge of the image is Mars. Credit: NASA

Good evening. We’re here at full Medway Council, which is about to kick off. On the agenda tonight: intimidation at Swale, school streets, restricting democracy, and reviewing the constitution. I’ll be live tweeting it all right here. Join me.

Just having a brandy with my breakfast, then popping out for a couple of well deserved morning pints before a liquid lunch with the boys. Infuriatingly this will be cut short by school pick up. Planning to drive there (right hand lane,) and anyone who objects is clearly a communist. 🤪

It’s a bonanza today in Newham with the experimental West Ham Park LTN going live! General traffic will no longer be able to use these residential streets as a shortcut—and Romford Road, to the north, is being improved too. We love to see it 🌳 🚸🌲 🚲 @rokhsanafiaz.bsky.social
A residential street which has been narrowed with wooden planter boxes at a junction, and traffic signs saying “no motor vehicles except permit holders WHP01, CCTV enforcement on Ham Park Road starts 25 Nov 24.” The street is nice and peaceful with a pedestrian crossing on the corner comfortably. The late afternoon sun casts a golden light on fallen leaves. There is no through traffic to be seen.

Went to the Massive Attack low carbon gig last night, and the one striking difference was how much less background noise there was with no diesel generators. It sounds mad, but it made quite a difference - there’s a lot of the time at festivals with no music, and it’s nicer when it’s quiet
