I drew beloved Tar-Míriel for the @numenorfaithfulcal.bsky.social charity calendar! 🌊💙 #TROP | #Tolkien | #macchiavato

Miriel, dressed in a flowy dress and gold jewelry, is sitting relaxed in a filled bathtub. Her long hair is fanned over the edge of the tub. Her left arm is casually propped up on the edge of the tub. The tub stands on a marble floor of star patterned tiles, submerged a few inches underwater.

Head's up to anyone reading my s3 fic, but no new chapter this week. Its complete and chapter 6 is nearly complete but I really want to keep a 2 chapter buffer between posting. Starting a new job in a brand new country has kicked my butt and I am not going to stress about this❤️

I think there is no way they'd not showcase what the elves are doing too. I think a big focus will be on Numenor and if they get Gandalf over to Rivendell by the end of season 3, Durin/Disa head over there too then you've got two storylines only. Numenor and the elves/etc vs nazguls

I want to know the books they've all read where he apparently does anything special. There are some lines about him scattered throughout different ones and he's in the chapter about him and Galadriel in UT but he's basically a blank canvas.

Jess @willowaus.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

Right? Like how come we can manage to do this but others can't? I don't understand how people simply don't just block and move on. If you don't like people's takes THEN BLOCK THEM. Its really not difficult to do.

everyone with one broad stroke

120

Jess @willowaus.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

The writers took some phrases from the trilogy and used them to create a rich show with the relationship between Sauron and Galadriel echoing so many of Tolkien's themes. Elves do not usually love more than once. BUT THEY CAN. We know there is an exception. But I'm just hung up on people painting

120

Jess @willowaus.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

All the show did was tie her desire for power to her desire for Sauron. It set them up as an almost yin-yang, the embodiment of light and darkness. While he can't grasp choosing to do good every day, stumbling perhaps and then choosing it the next day, Galadriel chooses it repeatedly

120

Jess @willowaus.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

I had a feeling this was the case after seeing how some reacted to the "love triangle" article but it still sucked to have it confirmed. People have had a problem with Galadriel being strong and disobedient since the first episode so I'm not surprised that such a thing persists. All the show...

130

Jess @willowaus.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

And just the fact that people on THIS APP, which was supposed to be the nicer app, the non-drama one are still being so anti-Haladriel because of takes ON TWITTER is beyond me

240

Jess @willowaus.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

Like I do not equate every person who ships Silvergifting or Adarial or Celedriel with those who've been abrasive and assholes on various platforms. Those are the people who do that. I block or mute and move on.

140

Jess @willowaus.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

The answers under this just make me sad. I can differentiate between shippers who are ridiculous and the ship that they ship. There are always loud people with takes that are awful but the fact people are letting it cloud how they view whole fan groups is just disheartening.
