Happy birthday to composer Michael Giacchino #BOTD in 1967. Since the early 2000s, Giacchino has been at the forefront of Hollywood film composers, writing the scores for over 50 movies. His list of credits is wide ranging: from Pixar to Marvel movies, comedies to dramas. 👇 #filmsky #moviesky

It was eventually a moot point, because at least one of my local twins lived long enough to become a quad (and then a "six-plex" w/ two smaller auditoriums built at the back of the building).

The NYT publishes amazing, valuable work across a range of topics. When it comes to covering politics and elections, however, it’s more often than not absolute trash. To just casually spread Paxton’s made-up nonsense about Talarico having mental issues? Beneath contempt.

The Race for Congress

Reporting from Austin, Texas

Asked about a rumor circulating online that he had been receiving some sort of mental health treatment during his absence, James Talarico said he had been at home, adding that it was "just a reminder not to believe everything you read on the internet."
—Sasha von Oldershausen

Reporting from Austin, Texas
After nearly 10 days off the campaign trail, James Talarico, the Democratic nominee for Senate in Texas, has just appeared in public at the Austin City Limits music festival.
Oldershausen and
J. David Goodman
James Talarico, the Democratic Senate nominee in Texas, reemerged on Friday after spending nine days off the campaign trail just weeks before the midterms, an absence which led to pointed questions from Republicans and unsettled some Democrats.
Appearing at the Austin City Limits music festival in the state capital, he said that he had been suffering from a "nasty case of the flu" and had been "home sick in bed."
His long disappearance from the campaign trail just weeks before the midterms was seized on by Republicans, including Ken Paxton, his Republican rival, who mocked his absence. And it worried some Democrats at a time when polls show Mr. Talarico in position to be the first Democrat in a generation to win a statewide election in Texas.

We don't necessarily know that Skydance doesn't see the worth of TCM. This isn't like when WBD tried to decimate TCM w/ budget cuts, layoffs, cutting the outros, etc This is preemptive, which is a stunning move for a brand to pull: reminding a new owner of its worth before they do anything to it.

The thing that's so horrifying about this, and I can't find a better word, is that the people in charge do not care. If TCM is not as revenue positive an outlet as the billionaires demand then it will die, and there is no amount of industry pressure that will change that.
