Since we were all canonically 13 at the time I suspect we’re making a lot of well intentioned memory mistakes about the immediate aftermath. At that age and in that era we also just didn’t know as much about how other communities were getting down on any given day.

Granted I live in a weird place—Harvard and MIT kids don’t have normal age-appropriate part time jobs—but the bar staffing pipeline seems so dry. I don’t know if the youth have stopped going to bars to the extent some claim, but they do seem to have stopped working competently in them.
