Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 30/09/2026My agent was trying to skip pre-commit hooks. Bad agent! Now it no longer can do that. 000
Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Running a docker container inside a VM? No problem, it doesn't require all that much either! 000
Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Jev is a cool model for some use cases. But completely closed and I've seen some pretty wild but wrong statements about it. Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Is that a container running as a VM on my machine? with a shell that I can use? I think, this is going to be pretty awesome! 100

Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Kotlin is the only one on the JVM that's crap to work with in Neovim. Time to fix that people! You're "open-source" right now. 000

Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 18/09/2026I've been running Omarchy for a few weeks now. Couple of observations: It integrates with agents of several suppliers. When something crashes, you can call an agent to help fix the issue. This is a big big win for the Linux desktop. 210
Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 15/09/2026Doing a bit of work on our internal agent sandboxing solution to improve the agentic harness used to build the sandbox. It needs a little love ;-) 000
Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 15/09/2026My oldest son wants to learn to program. He specifically wants to learn Java, because he's seen that it's a good language to work with. I think a few of my readers here will approve 🤌 200
Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 12/09/2026And then there were no lights anymore in the factory hall. Yesterday I presented a case study we worked on at Info Support to test what it would take to run a dark factory with agents to build software. 110
Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 11/09/2026Figuring out a way to run a very tiny software factory at home from my desktop. Basically, I have a workplace app where I can work on specs that are then queued in the factory for my local agent to pick up in a sandbox environment like docker sandboxes. 100
Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 08/09/2026It turns out that creating a good quality powerpoint template is very hard. Wish me luck fighting this rather broken template.... 110
Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 07/09/2026Preparing more goodies for this weekend! Packaging up the Docker Sandbox template I'm using for oh-my-pi so that people can try it. 001
Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 07/09/2026It's the final week for the ISKS at Info Support. And there's a Q-event where I'm showing the work that a bunch of people have done over the past weeks/months to get our internal LLM hosting up and running. 110
Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 07/09/2026Quickly packaging up my Qwen 3.8 Flash Next setup for a few colleagues to run on their DGX machine. Hopefully I can have that done before the meetings start today. 000
Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 04/09/2026My open-source agent keeps surprising me. It takes screenshots of grafana, for example, to verify the dashboard works. Very nice! 000
Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 04/09/2026Reading up on the abliterated version of Qwen 3.8. This is not for the weak of heart. It is actually downright dangerous to use. I'm going to have a chat with one or two managers to discuss options... my goodness. 000
Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 04/09/2026That's a lot of fun from a bunch of old laptop parts and a mini ITX motherboard. I had the pleasure of learning how to use talos and flux. The kids are having fun with minecraft. Money well spent! 000
Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 04/09/2026Omarchy 4 comes with agents built-in. You can configure a default agent to analyze crashes, for example. And you can ask questions about the operating system to your agent. It's quite good actually. 000
Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 03/09/2026Running Talos Linux on the homeserver with Kubernetes. Now setting up persistent volumes. Hopefully I can have minecraft running tonight :D 130
Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 03/09/2026Reading up on what the people at Omarchy have been doing. They apparently started a foundation to improve several Linux desktop kits and tools. It's pretty amazing to be honest. 000

Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 30/08/2026The final day of vacation is here. And just in time, I managed to get the dictation tool working. It now works on any Linux desktop environment with local models only. It notifies you when it's recording and when it's done. 110
Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 29/08/2026Hahaaah! I can now press Ctrl+Super on my machine, explain what I want, and it will type it in! From anywhere too! 210
Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 29/08/2026Modern software development. No code editor in sight. I might as well turn of the monitor, because I'm not looking most of the time. Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 29/08/2026Bought parts to build a home server based on one of those NUC kind of computers. I had some old memory lying around and a still operational SSD from an old laptop. That shaved like 800 euros off the total cost. I feel like a tinkerer now! 130

Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 25/08/2026I've been testing with hindsight for two days now. I can see some effects in how the coding agent is reasoning now. It doesn't have a massive effect though. 210

Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 23/08/2026On day 4 of my personal dictation tool: I'm going to use an advisor model in oh-my-pi that steps in when the main model gets things wrong. Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 23/08/2026I went back to my code and remade a few things in the code. I made sure it now uses tokio since this application is I/O bound. I also improved the module structure so that it is easier to review. The problem with this sort of low-level code is that the agent tends to create spaghetti code. 100

Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 21/08/2026Hah! My first experience completely breaking the keyboard and mouse input in linux. When you capture an input device, you need to forward it again to a virtual input device. Otherwise.... well, you have to push the reset button! 010
Willem Meints @willemmeints.bsky.social · 21/08/2026Made a few more changes to my harness in oh-my-pi. Now, when the agent edits a rust file, it triggers clippy to validate the code is correct. I also added a small extension to verify the tests run after each turn of the agent. This way I can instantly let the agent know it did something weird. 000
