...And here we are at the final week of the season. Manager fired, 1B a shambles, and Yan starting tonight's game. DO I KNOW MY TEAM OR DO I KNOW MY TEAM?!

Had the pleasure of seeing the great Dale Watson last night at Cafe Wah. He will always turn a bad day into a great one!

From time to time I'll wear a bright yellow shirt at work that I really like. When I do, my students make all sorts of (mostly) positive remarks. Today, one says, "That's a really nice color. FFC200, right?" "Wait...you know the hex code for the color of my shirt?!"

To be fair "pretend not to speak English" is a common response from human women when Piers Morgan talks at them.

I don't know Duncan Sheik's music much, but had the pleasure of hearing him perform at the legendary "Joni's Jazz" show on Canada Day '99 at Central Park Summerstage. He sang "Court and Spark" and "Refuge of the Roads" and was excellent.

I found a photo! Here's Cheetah with Handsome Dick. I believe this was at CBGB's in August 2005. Worth saying again...Cheetah Chrome forever.

Handsome Dick Manitoba and Cheetah Chrome.

It's that time of the year where I need to be on social media less because quite frankly I'd rather forget.

Just saw that Stanley, the restaurant at the corner of Jackson Square in New Orleans, is closing. I had my first Eggs Benedict there. Sad to see it go.

So as I mentioned, took the day trip to Montreal to go see Rush. - best seats I've had; - they played all of 2112; and - the Passage to Bangkok video was quite a thing So am I glad I went? I guess.

The Wild Koba @wildkoba.bsky.social · 29/08/2026

Dilemma: do I go see Rush again in Montreal this coming week? I have miles I can redeem for a flight, tix on Stubhub are very reasonable, and I'd just have to settle on a hotel to crash at for the night. UGH! I said I wouldn't do this, but here I am. Halp!

did bluesky hear about Miss Teen Indiana’s Garfield costume

A young woman in a Garfield inspired outfit with a Garfield headdress

The young woman from the first photo is holding a lasagna that says “lasagna my love language”

missinteenusa Tonight, Indiana is going Garfield!
My state costume celebrates one of Indiana's most iconic creations-Garfield, created by fellow Hoosier Jim Davis.
Born in Marion and raised in Fairmount, Davis turned an orange cat with a big personality into a character recognized and loved around the world.
But this costume represents more than a famous Hoosier.
The hand-painted comic panels on my skirt share messages inspired by my initiative, Captivating Confidence:
"Our differences are what make us beautiful."
"If we don't have love, we have nothing."
"Outer beauty attracts, but inner beauty captivates."
To me, true confidence is found in embracing what makes each of us different and recognizing that our greatest beauty comes from within. I am so excited to bring a little Hoosier humor, creativity and confidence to the Miss Teen USA stage tonight!
This one-of-a-kind costume was inspired by my vision and brought to life by Indianapolis-based costume designer, Jess West. @jesswestcostumes

Bought a last minute ticket to see Rush again, but this time in Philly. Was informed that I bought the last Philly t-shirt in my size. Sometimes you’re the fly, sometimes the windshield.

Fancy with the last Rush/Philly t-shirt.

I spent a chunk of summer '97 driving x-country. Blasting "Looking for Satellites" while crossing into Wyoming is something that still lives in me.

31. I admire the many, many, many times he tried to get his audience to listen to free jazz and Philip Glass operas. There were very few musicians who were as INTO music as much as David Bowie was.
