I always guide my students to do a quantitative bias assessment in their lit review, because it's the best way to highlight evidence gaps. This should be a standard for all systematic or quantitative literature reviews, not just formal meta-analyses.

Counting animals: Stable population size is not equivalent to priority level
Animal advocates often compare animal population sizes to give a rough sense of moral priority. But, these figures hide important information.

it is truly outrageous how often I see "claim 1, and claim 2 (citation)" in a scientific paper, and the citation only supports one or neither of the claims.

Interesting idea: get scientists to forecast when big things will happen in their fields. "Your forecasts and the reasoning behind them will feed directly into that work, helping quantify uncertainty and inform where ARIA focuses next."

Here I argue that we do not discuss experimental design, often until it is too late. This editorial seeks to begin a conversation about how and where to replicate appropriately.
