So proud of my Masters student Leonor Loureiro who presented her thesis today on enrichment in bold and shy Norway lobsters. Using preference tests we now know what environment these animals prefer and this seems to reduce stress for bold lobsters #crustacean #animalwelfare

“We show that MS222 and quinaldine sulfate are the most suitable for achieving deep anesthesia, whereas etomidate is better suited for studies focused on the cardiovascular system. Only quinaldine sulfate was found to be aversive.” Very cool #3Rs work in #zebrafish 😎
