Oskar Wickström @wickstrom.tech · 09/09/2026Gotcha. The canvas example here is related: antithesishq.github.io/bombadil/bro... But ultimately it comes down defining generators with weights. Here's a meaty example of doing that with domain specific actions: github.com/owickstrom/b... 010
Oskar Wickström @wickstrom.tech · 09/09/2026Hmm, depends on what "open the drawer" means but that sounds like a click too? I think the problem is rather using the default `clicks` generator, and instead having a custom generator that sets particular weights. Or only generates some clicks. 100
Oskar Wickström @wickstrom.tech · 09/09/2026Nice! Btw, what's the custom actions for? Curious if we are missing native actions for anything obvious. 100

Oskar Wickström @wickstrom.tech · 21/08/2026This leap is very satisfying, as I've been in this fight for many years, not having a good answer for one of the fundamental questions. 010
Oskar Wickström @wickstrom.tech · 21/08/2026It should be noted that it's a small synthetic benchmark, I'll be back with more results from real-world apps. But combined with last week's bug found by Antithesis+Bombadil, I'm very optimistic about how this plays out. 120
Oskar Wickström @wickstrom.tech · 21/08/2026Here, instead, we have full-system branching time, and the fuzzer uses client-side JS coverage as part of the objective function. It's all done with default properties in Bombadil, no extra config needed. It takes a few minutes to find the bug, it's all online learning, no over-time complications. 120
Oskar Wickström @wickstrom.tech · 21/08/2026I had various designs where if you at least had isolation, then over time you could *maybe* get somewhere. Building up some graph or tree model of the space, balance exploration vs exploitation, etc. The catch is that the code also changes over time, which greatly complicates building useful models. 140
Oskar Wickström @wickstrom.tech · 21/08/2026Blind random walks are useful and you can definitely find bugs that you hadn't otherwise, but there's so much you're missing out on. 110
Oskar Wickström @wickstrom.tech · 21/08/2026This was always that one very uncomfortable concession when talking about browser fuzzing: the slowness and the practical impossibility of rewinding time, made it very impractical to do any sort of search through a state space. 110

Oskar Wickström @wickstrom.tech · 09/07/2026That's how I run my wife's site: NixOS, SQLite, bespoke Rust webapp for ecommerce. It's fast and cheap, and ironically it probably has better uptime than the enshittified platforms. 110

Oskar Wickström @wickstrom.tech · 25/06/2026Like, if a lot of apps were tested "just" with the default properties (essentially fuzzing, "doesn't crash") the total improvement would be significant. 010

Oskar Wickström @wickstrom.tech · 13/06/2026Reading "The Elements of Typographic Style", I got way too inspired and went down a CSS rabbit hole trying to reproduce some of it.
