Are people using unreal engine's MCP server effectively without needing any unreal specific plugins? Or if you want ai assistance for blueprints and config and stuff do you still need extra plugins for a real workflow?

Funny thought: AI productivity gains are such that my time estimates are now actually fairly accurate So it's like a 2x speed boost 😎 But it feels faster because writing prompts is less draining than coding and debugging and stressing

I repeat. Roblox is the worst thing that's happened to the video game industry.
For 20 years, Roblox has been on a mission to remove limits on what gaming is – and what it can be.
Today, we're introducing Build – a new way for anyone to create a game on Roblox from their phone. And we’re expanding AI-powered tools for developers of every level.
We're doing this for one reason: The world needs more play.
Play is humanity's oldest technology for connection and learning. Before agriculture, before commerce, before civilization, we played together. And as the world has become more fragmented, the need for play only grows. Our role is to remove every obstacle between that play and the people who want to create it. Faster iteration and fewer technical constraints. And more room to push further than a single creator – or a small team – could have gone in the past.
This isn’t just for studios who've already proven themselves. Some of the most important work in this industry has come from first-time creators – who were often Roblox players first – with a single focused idea.
Between now and RDC, we'll incrementally roll out what we are building to make all of this real – new tools for creators, new ways for players to play, and new ways for people to find the things they love.

You know who wouldn't lay off 3200 workers? Workers. Game developers deserve control over the means of game production, and at this point I'm convinced that even the short-term viability of the game industry depends on us seizing it.

Having an LLM rewrite targeted docs for an individuals exact set of skills and knowledge level seems like a good idea. I feel like some of these obvious things aren't being worked on because they're too easy to implement. No one wants to invest in even a really helpful tool if the idea will be taken

Something about reading docs hurts my back... It's either psychological or I lean in too much or something 😔 Oh well it's an excuse to lay down 😅

If you really want to get ahead in this new landscape you should probably consider creating a massive network of linked blogs dedicated to discussing all the reasons why you personally deserve a promotion and a payrise.

"To make a game, all you need is a blank piece of paper and a few big ideas." Words from a making-of Spyro the Dragon video that have stuck with me for years... obviously there's a lot more to it than that, but at least pen and paper is accessible when I'm not at my computer. 🤷 #gamedev #indiedev

One of my favorite modern UX problems is opening an app and finding a random new icon that apparently everyone is supposed to understand instantly. At least put a tooltip on it.

Still can't tell if I'm more productive working early in the day or later in the day. Getting out of bed knowing you have to jump into work is miserable. But then at night you can truly relax, compared to kind of procrastinating all day and then going to sleep with work thoughts still in your head.

Nothing says platform priorities quite like putting AI features in more prominent spots than the stuff people actually came for. The nav bar tells the whole story.

Some cookie banners feel like they're doing malicious compliance. If a user has already opted out, trying to funnel them back into accepting cookies through confusing UX is not an accident.

Has anyone ever solved a concurrency bug by adding a delay... and then not regretted it later? 😂 Fixed a flash where I was rendering by adding a delay to the loading state to let the useEffect run. But then when data was cached the loading was false so it'd flash anyway 🙃

AI can generate polished looking output fast, but prototyping is usually where I need to think through the problem, not skip past it.

I was surprised to learn how many cookie consent tools don't actually test the stuff you'd need to verify compliance.

I kind of appreciate when an AI app makes the input box usable before the rest of the page loads. But if it starts accepting input before it's actually ready, you end up sending half a sentence and wasting a response on nonsense.

>Introduce 1 small non essential feature >Realize you have to invalidate the cache from 30 different endpoints and refetch if you don't want it showing stale values Do I have to do this? It's the web right, people understand they can just refresh the page if something seems off right? 😨

Why is chromes scrollbar so ugly compared to firefox? Is it using my OS theme or did they just not care? Seems crazy I have to use a shadcn component to get a scrollbar that isn't disgusting. Especially since it adds display table junk and destroys everything it touches. 😡 Yes I'm mad.
