Anyone else have concerns that this is laying the groundwork for tarrifs on medications when pharma either fights or ignores this executive order? Then costing patients the same or more than before?

#PTSD symptomatology can be found in up to a third of parents with a high-risk infant in the #NICU. Untreated PTSD can have long-term effects for the parent and impact parent-child attachment and development. Routine PTSD screening for parents during and after NICU stay benefits parent + baby.

Permanent name suppression and keeps registration. So they are saying no need to intervene to protect patient interests because a patient wasn't harmed?! Wow.

I am very sorry to hear that. I can feel the anger, and it is understandable to feel a medication failed your family. I say this sincerely: just like chemotherapy, meds do not save everyone, but there are others it does. These aren't a placebo for many people. Let them have a chance.

SSRI discontinuation syndrome is something I am very familiar with. None of this is new information. It does not occur with every patient. It is mild when it happens. It is not anything like "severe withdrawal" that can occur with heroin or DTS. None of these articles validate calling it placebo.

I'm sorry but you haven't answered my question. What "severe withdrawal" symptoms? Nothing you have shared supports the words you have written. Great claims require evidence. I am very familiar with the research and psychopharmacology was part of my training.

The article says stopping SSRIs can cause headache, nausea, dizziness or tiredness and "the symptoms are mild and short-lived." Fear deters people from getting help, and does not build trust in therapists either. I hope you might reconsider your post.

I run a therapy focused practice, but also have patients who are alive today because of medication. Curious as to what class of antidepressants you are referring to? What "severe withdrawal" symptoms from antidepressants are used "as evidence it is needed"?

This is why it concerns me that it is being pushed towards children. They have to still develop and cultivate those skills. If they are not given that chance because cognitive processes are being offloaded to AI, they won't have anything to fall back on.

When I talk to kids today, I encourage them to develop compassion and critical thinking, read books, touch grass. The corporate push for so-called AI is, I believe, about creating dependency via atrophy of critical skills.
