a lesson in hoarding, part 2: electric boogaloo

we ended up with almost double the amount of contractor bags full of ruined clothes, old bedding, garbage, and junk; also 3 regular kitchen trash bags of clothes that were in good enough condition to donate. we have about 2 laundry baskets of clothes each, plus a smaller basket of socks and underwear combined.

i'm physically and emotionally exhausted, but today HAD to happen before mac and i could allow ourselves to adopt the dog we're getting.

i was NOT about to bring my very first pet as an adult into a hoarder house. there's no fucking way i could live with myself if he got sick because of the condition of the place.

i've seen parts of my living room and kitchen floor tonight that i legitimately haven't seen in over 8 years. macaroon's sweeping, vacuuming and mopping those floors tomorrow while i'm at work, rearranging the furniture to be more ergonomic, and is tackling the bedroom, which thankfully is nowhere NEAR as dirty as the living room and kitchen were.

we're better people than we used to be. now that we're gonna have a clean slate, we know preventative measures to take to keep stuff like this from happening again.

it takes a lot to be this vulnerable about our living situation on the wide open internet, but i hope that me being vulnerable about it shows someone in a similar situation that you CAN overcome this. it IS within your willpower. ask for help from friends and family, if you must, but you CAN clean your house. you CAN let go of that shirt you've owned for over half your life. you CAN throw away the plate with the crack in it that your grandma gave you.

you can do it.

My #pixelart entry for PSICOZINE, an italian fanzine! 124x180px, 22 colors I originally meant to animate it, but I am pc-less atm. Bronzong is one of my faves - I love bronzes from the Yayoi period in general. Recently, I also developed a huge love for the bronze art of Sangxingdui, Guanghan.

$A pixel art of the pokemon Bronzong and Bronzor. The steel/psychic pokemon is embedded in an intricate frame wall, perfectly shaped around him. Two Bronzor are located at its sides. The dark temple is lit by a bright flame contained in a horned urn right below Bronzong. This round brazier is shaped like the headpiece of the legendary pokemon Ting-Lu. The bright flame causes all sorts of reflections and color diffractions: from the warm light to the characteristic shades of oxidated bronze, with purple and cold reflections as well. Upon further inspection, the rich frame carvings reveal many historiated scenes: below bronzong there's a lunette holds stylized figures of Dialga, Palkia and Giratina. Above the two Bronzor, embedded in the frame, the silhouettes of Uxie, Azelf and Mesprit. On the higher part of the structure, right above Bronzong, the effigy of Arceus, lit by a cold light.$
