You’re very welcome - I enjoyed it! Didn’t know much about CS beyond the usual (poss due to being more interested in his brother) and was pleased I don’t need to retort to AA’s book just yet (phew!)

Wonder if he’s celebrating somewhere, wearing particularly indescribable breeches…

To paraphrase Eurovision: 'We love you, Europe! Welcome to Vienna.' It's a happy birthday to our greatest ambassador to Vienna, born #otd 18 May 1778. Read all about him in my fab book!!!

I created a feed for #NapoleonicHistory - bsky.app/profile/did:... which sd capture all posts/replies tagged with same. Will be tweaking it further as things are still fairly quiet here, but it's a good time to get it going, so please test/pin/share if interested. Remember to tag your posts. 1/2

Good to see this volume coming together - the result of a hugely enjoyable conference involving @profelainechalus.bsky.social, @nationaltrust.bsky.social and @hillaryburlock.bsky.social - and a lot of work since by Hillary Burlock and Tatjana LeBoff... #HistParl www.routledge.com/Bath-and-Bey...

My author copies arrived, so I had to do a photoshoot! 3 years of hard work condensed into 378 pages 📖 'Queen Charlotte: Family, Duty, Scandal' is now available from @routledgehistory and all good booksellers! #historysky #royalhistory #18thcentury #skystorians #queencharlotte
Photograph of a woman smiling and holding a book. Background is a cream wall with panelling. The woman has brown hair and wears a purple jumper with a black skirt. Photograph of a book, with a stack of six books behind. The book cover is a portrait painting of a woman in a wide gold and white dress, with a red curtain behind her. The book cover has blue detailing around the text: 'Queen Charlotte: Family, Duty, Scandal. Natalee Garrett.' The books rest on blue fabric and behind them is a cushion decorated with an 18th-century painting of a woman in a silver dress, with two children and a dog at her feet.

Working today on the design of a coat of arms for a recipient of an Honour from the Crown in a recent Honours List - all such recipients are entitled to petition for Arms. Always fascinating to hear about their service.

Inspired by @gvaughnjoy.bsky.social , I have started a very rough list of Napoleonic history, and 18th & 19th century accounts that you may want to follow. It’s not a comprehensive list, let me know if you want to be added. go.bsky.app/M2yEkY6

Died #otd 20 March 1925: George Nathaniel Curzon, 1st Marquess Curzon of Kedleston. Viceroy of India and Foreign Secretary, he never became PM. A rhyme said of him: 'I am a most superior person. My cheek is pink, my hair is sleek. I dine at Blenheim once a week.' (images: NPG)
