You got out!! Very happy to hear it. I work I insurance now and don't mind the "boringness" one bit, my stress levels are an order of magnitude lower I have more free time and life is better.

Missing both of you. I took a year off from all socials, feeling reluctant to return to an environment where others have such direct access to my dopamine loop.

it's summer vacation and if you've been following this account for some time you know what that means: I can buy weed here without any of Ontario's stupid rules attached

I have made a map, of sorts. Let's say you're given a reasoning problem. What aspect of that problem exactly decides if you think too much? Not enough? Just right? What aspect of the problem decides if you will succeed at this task? Are these the same? (spoiler: no, these are orthogonal)

This work sits at the intersection of cognition, AI and information theory. The compute scale is fun: I ran 500 trillion maths per second for two weeks to produce this data. I haven't even looked up the word for a number that big.

I may have accidentally conducted the largest cognitive experiment in history. I have somewhere around 1 billion words of thought arranged along a multi dimensional grid of difficulty with thousands of tests per sample The patterns I've found are elegant, beautiful, and profound. Now what though?

Today I’m writing about some It Came From The Kush live rosin, from a brand that calls itself The Goo!. I bought mine from Mendo. My gram came in a standard large plastic top, small glass jar bottom, with a plastic seal under the lid.

small power delivery failure after 2 days at 1000W solid this cable is way, way out of spec

A molex to 2 sata cable with both 12v wires melted

a milliohm meter measuring the cable reading 207 (which is 5-10x too high and why things melted)

Gear and chain should be able to survive the sand as long as you can keep the motor coupling sealed away from the grit.. It would also look dope AF

010

WhatsMyPot ☮️ @whatsmypot.com · 02/06/2025

Reverse-waterfall dehumidifier is a solid idea imo, with the specific heat of hand so low I wouldn't worry about what little heat you'd waste on the sand. the tough part is the arbasive aspect, how to move the sand back to the top without slow killing any mechanical parts involved Air conveyor?

110

WhatsMyPot ☮️ @whatsmypot.com · 02/06/2025

Neat idea. Practical trouble would be reliability, sand is abrasive as hell as far as fluids go, and the fact that specific heat of sand actually sucks it only holds like 1/4th the heat that water does so you'd need so much more of it

found some fun weed yesterday that I haven't seen in Ontario shops: Hash Bullets from Simply Bare rather then just being infused with hash, these tiny little .3g prerolls are 100% hash beautifully slow, flavorful burn might have to snag another pack on the way home

Simply Bare Hash Bullets
34.2% thc
Total terpenes 1.12%

inside the package, 3 small dog walker type of joints under individual cellophane

a hand holding a burning pre roll
good looking white ash, lots of oil

I had similar reservations but they burn perfect. I might rip the last one apart to confirm the trick, I'd bet the middle is hollow

shopping for weed on a large display above an empty counter is such a bizarre and unpleasant experience imagine you went to buy tomatoes and were met with a screen that has 20 kinds of tomatoes but you can't see or touch or smell any I get this is much cheaper for the retailer, but I hate it

Actually scatch this - THC decarb starts at 95C! So while being towards the upper range, you could totally use this oven for weed purposes.

000

WhatsMyPot ☮️ @whatsmypot.com · 18/05/2025

Decarb needs higher temps 😞 would certainly be fun to try and build a weed oven but I'd need to source better parts then what I had sitting around

110

WhatsMyPot ☮️ @whatsmypot.com · 18/05/2025

The end goal is an environment to anneal PLA, a process that uses 60-80C heat to re-form 3D printed parts after they've completed to improve their strength and heat resistance. The original oven had a range of 100-300C with ?? precision, these mods bring range down to 40-100C with 3-4C precision

DIY lab oven project is a resounding success Achieved 53-56C range on 55C target the trick turned out to be 2 controllers in series: one for temperature of chamber, and a timer to keep the elements from thermal runaway by only allowing 2sec of heat every 10sec last step is mount and close it up

the side of a small oven with a home made controller tapped into it

close up of the dual relay controller I ended up with

130

WhatsMyPot ☮️ @whatsmypot.com · 17/05/2025

the oven now does what I say the rotisserie slot is perfect for a real temperature sensor current trouble is too much heat, target is 55C and I made it from 53C to 63C before the elements cooled off enough gonna play with hysterisis but need to power control the elements.. knobs are fake

an oven opened up and a bunch of Chinese shit wired into it

Temperature board reading 56.8 degrees with a target temp of 55C

020

WhatsMyPot ☮️ @whatsmypot.com · 17/05/2025

it's lucky I planned to open up and hack this cheap no name brand oven anyway, because the mains hot wire wasn't actually crimped on and already shows signs of arc damage ⚡ man who sold it to me said it was totally fine but I bet it sparkled like fireworks at least once

inside an oven controller, with a red wire that immediately and suspiciously disconnected when I pulled on it

the wire in question, clearly already damaged

"Oliver" - my first experiment in 3d printed lithography love the medium but made some rookie mistakes, need to manually do the gray-scale conversion so levels not wasted on the corners also need to put the seam on the side not the back next up is a frame to hold the litho and LED backplate

a 3d printer finishing up a white lithographic plate of a cat looking at the camera
