God this week's Goodbye Lara was so good TuT I think as a whole I'm still going for Journal With Witch as my anime of the year, but Goodbye Lara's probably a good second. That and/or Jaadugar So much good shit this year

Tbf on the Fish Sonar, that Umi archetype announcement caused a buyout and it's sitting at like $15 USD right now.

I was planning to skip MAMO because I'm more interested in what's coming out in the next set, but Fluffal Wings reprint? Should I get my hopes up? Will Fluffal finally get support? TuT.

Man, latest episode of Goodbye, Lara got weird.

Whammy @whammyanalysis.bsky.social · 09/08/2026

I’m like 95% confident Mari outright just decked the guy to hide Lara’s mermaid form. We saw from her punching Lara when Lara first met her that throwing hands is her instinct when startled after all! #goodbyelara

Random fun fact about me, I used to be the admin for a Clannad forum RP site that eventually expanded into being a shared Key studio game universe RP site. So always appreciate seeing anything from them out in the wild.

You know, for "vast garden is charred in an inferno of jealousy", there was a lot less fire than expected. More like a light toasting in one room. Let Ralsei set Flowery on fire, as a treat! #deltarunespoilers #deltarunech5

The Zombie Land Saga movie finally came to Crunchyroll today and its timing could not have been better. Personal life was rough this week & the silliness of the series combined with its themes of resilience in the face of hardship hit so hard I was bawling by the final concert scene TuT.

Watched first three episodes of #DragonStriker , and Key gives me the vibe of Midoriya with ADHD. Overall enjoyed the setup up, and really enjoy the art style. Power system looks setup for a fun mix of abilities to play around with, too.

Whammy @whammyanalysis.bsky.social · 10/06/2026

On the flip side, though, my childhood nostalgia wants Vechiroids, and I think that's a deck that would need to be redesigned from the ground up to actually have a gameplan. Give it the Sacred Beast/ROLD treatment of "brand new archetype with name aesthetics but no connection with the past".

Whammy @whammyanalysis.bsky.social · 10/06/2026

Either way, though, I really want Fluffal to get modern Fusion design updates so bad. Imagine Edge Imp Scythe getting to be as good of a turn 0 setup like Faimena! You could even merge that into blind second OTK if Edge Imp/Fluffal materials were more like the Dracotail cards (other than Chain).

110

Whammy @whammyanalysis.bsky.social · 10/06/2026

Depends. Using Fluffals (deck I want legacy support for the most), more of the same would be improving it's ability to blind second OTK since that's what its cards theoretically want. Same time, though, in practice Fluffal turned into combo with it's draw power & weird synergies.

With how mid this set is, it's going to be a real test of the scalping potential sealed Yugioh product might have. With how much Yugioh pricing is traditionally tied to meta-value, how much are players willing to pay for mid-ass sets just to get a chance at a Overframe lol?

010

Whammy @whammyanalysis.bsky.social · 25/05/2026

Saw a comment at the other place by Farfa on state of Yugioh, and I appreciate the Fusion Dimension propaganda lol

Been watching Eren the Southpaw, & so far we're getting two different vibes: Koichi: Workplace drama about being an artist with strong work ethic but no talent in an ad agency Eren: Autistic girl with no survival skills that just wants to draw keeps stumbling into grade A toxic yuri BS.

Whammy @whammyanalysis.bsky.social · 19/05/2026

Remember when I used to do a lot of forum RPs it was very common to basically have this where forum RPs would have little, roughly 30x80 pixel sized "banner ads" that would be on other as a permanent ad. Usually did it with sites with similar settings or vibes, plus the big resource sites.

Not only am I glad this is finally out, it also means I can finally show off some artwork I had commissioned during the production for myself by @teatigercafe.bsky.social . So come listen in on the adventures of The Great and Powerful Sparkie (and friends) in my first actual play podcast role!

God, I haven't updated my OTK Ancient Gear guide since last May. I haven't been on the deck since then either, but there's a train whistle calling me like a siren that has me trying to think about it again with Blazing Dominion... Some WIP thinking:

Whammy @whammyanalysis.bsky.social · 24/04/2026

Can't say I got a lot of DnD style OCs these days, so let's go with a superhero setting magic user instead lol (art commissioned from SuperiorSpy on X):

VRains, I'd presume they'd give Code Talkers, Salamangreat, and Gouki, but if they want more female character representation & a little more variety in strategy perhaps Trickstars (for burn)?

000

Whammy @whammyanalysis.bsky.social · 21/04/2026

For GX they'd obviously print HERO for Jaden. Cyber Angels maybe for a Ritual focused gameplay option & more female character representation? Cyber Dragons already had the tactical try deck thing we didn't get. Maybe Armed Dragon-Ojama? Lots of playspace here.

100

Whammy @whammyanalysis.bsky.social · 21/04/2026

For DM you'd obviously get Dark Magician. Blue-Eyes is viable but they had a structure deck recently so it's reprint potential is low but nostalgia high & offers synchro and fusion gameplay. Red-Eyes feels appropriate as well if you want a Yugi/Kaiba/Joey trio but god is Red-Eyes pure such a mess.

100

Whammy @whammyanalysis.bsky.social · 21/04/2026

Feels like in general with modern decks they want to give the protagonists deck a reprint & new card and the other two balance out some kind of mix of reprinting stuff for decks that got recent support, nostalgia, and gameplay variety.

100

Whammy @whammyanalysis.bsky.social · 21/04/2026

You know, let's do some #YuGiOh engagement bait. With the Arc V Legendary Decks announced with Lunalight, Speedroid, & Odd-Eyes & having had one for 5Ds with Synchron, Rose Dragon, & Blackwings, what 3 decks would you put together for a DM, GX, &/or Vrains Legendary Deck set?

100

Whammy @whammyanalysis.bsky.social · 20/04/2026

I appreciate more Lunalight support, but where is my Fluffals TuT.

Recently got some new art of my Masks: A New Generation OC, Nova Playbook hero Arcana aka Amalia, done by @vol-sen.bsky.social . She's currently set up in a campaign that's got a tropical-summer vibe and felt like getting some art of her in an appropriate outfit.

Based on Asa's confusion but also thinking it was cool when Chiyo said "I witness you", Makio's suggestion (which I guess was ignored) that she watch Mad Max: Fury Road was totally correct. Love how that of all things ended up a brick joke in the finale. #journalwithwitch #ikokunikki

"YOUR TAKING TOO LONG RAGATHA" I'm so sorry, it the first thing that came to mind when I saw this scene TuT. #tadcspoilers

Whammy @whammyanalysis.bsky.social · 15/03/2026

You know, probably one of my favorite parts of Ikoku Nikki / Journal With Witch is just how expressive Asa is. Her facial expressions alone are just so fun to watch and is like half the humor of the series for me.

000

Whammy @whammyanalysis.bsky.social · 08/03/2026

Been watching Journal With Witch, & one thing I want to say is I hope by the end of this we get an original song by Asa. Latest episode having her back down from auditioning for the band because of a fear of standing out hurts to see. I've had anxiety cause similar issues, it's not fun. #ikokunikki

I was so tempted but we had two Yugioh sets come out this month and I dropped so much on cards and sleeves and new card binders I had to hold off. Love excuses to get my OCs dressed up and work out clothes had been on my list of things to get for them lol.
