Turning 75 next week (!) and it's still our comfort show, too. 😉
u/Aggravating_Hippo_2 in the r/Arthur subreddit : "Am I the 20 year old who still watches Arthur? It’s my comfort show. I literally know every episode in and out, and I can’t get enough of it. I feel embarrassed to admit that I still watch it as a college student, but I know I can’t be the only one."

The best part of this serendipitous love story? The Griffins didn't have actual proof of their fairy tale beginning as recently as 2019. But then GBH’s AMERICAN EXPERIENCE released the trailer for its "Woodstock: Three Days That Defined a Generation" doc. Sure enough, there they were.

50 Years After They Met at Woodstock, Couple Finally Finds a Photo of Their First Hours Together
After 50 years of searching, Judy and Jerry Griffin finally have a photo from when they first met -- at Woodstock in 1969

57 years ago, Judy Griffin's car broke down en route to Woodstock. She poked her head inside a nearby 1967 VW Beetle to ask for a ride... and found Jerry Griffin sitting in the backseat. More than half a century, two sons and five grandchildren later, the couple still haven't left each other's side.

Faust to @gbhnews.bsky.social: "When [Adam] got into recovery – and he had two years and two months in recovery – he devoted his life to helping other people who were seeking recovery... He's still with me. He's with us right here, I can promise you. But then came, how do we move forward?"

He lost his son. Now he's teaching fly fishing to help others suffering from addiction.
For many anglers, the practice of fly fishing is about much more than catching fish. For some in addiction recovery it can be therapeutic.

Jim calls the nonprofit "Adam's Parachute," which honors his son in more than just namesake. Just a day before his own death, Adam had saved the life of a young man who had overdosed. Jim sees the parachute as a metaphor for this; Adam had one parachute, and he gave it to someone else.

Two years ago, Jim Faust lost his son, Adam, to addiction. Jim found solace in fly fishing, rooting himself in the peace and calm of nature. Then, he decided to share that solace with people facing similar struggles by starting a nonprofit where he teaches fly fishing to those in addiction recovery.

Thread from @thecoolestkate reads "In kindergarten I once stayed home sick from school watching PBS all day and learned to draw a fruit basket (on notebook paper). ‘We’re having a party!’: Inside a school bus with Scottish soccer fans headed to the World Cup
Faced with the high cost of transportation to the soccer tournament, Scotland's Tartan Army rented “every single yellow school bus” in the region to get to Foxborough to see their team play Haiti.

Tartan Army organizer Scott Gillan said the group "spoke to a few bus companies, and the prices were incredible. So we then had a little bit of a joke, 'Let's get some school buses, the schools are off.'"

Organizers charged fans $38 per seat on the buses (less than half the price of the commuter rail fare). The funds went toward the cost of transportation, a few alcoholic beverages and water provided to passengers on board, as well as more than $16,000 in charitable donations to local organizations.
