This weekend is a Bank Holiday weekend, so all Westmeath Libraries will be closed Sat - Mon. Reopening as usual on Tuesday. We are also upgrading some computer systems on Monday which means online services will be unavailable, this includes MOL.

Last week UK newspaper The Guardian publised a list it called the 100 best novels of all time. (Remember The Guardian is available for all library members on the BorrowBox app). Like all of these lists, it prompted a bit of discussion here in Westmeath Libraries' HQ. #reading #booksky #books

Good morning Bluesky, what is everyone #reading today? I have just finished Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, read by Ray Porter. If you've read The Martian then this is a similar style, science fiction with lots of problems solved by thinking and scientific experiments. Very enjoyable

Interesting report from CBI about children's #reading for pleasure in Ireland, has both positive and negatives like all reports. No mention of visiting libraries, or borrowing library books though. If you are a parent/care-giver do you take children to the library? Could we make it easier for you?
