The depressing thing about the US isn't Trump really. He's just a grotesque. It's the complete failure of all the things liberals believe in: Congress, the judiciary, the press, voters themselves, all persistently unwilling or unable to stop him. It's the failure of an entire society.

This is a much bigger story than a 1% decline. First time in modern history, the world's largest energy system — with more than 4.1 TW of installed capacity — appears to be showing a sustained decline in CO₂ emissions while electricity demand, industrial output & economic activity continue to grow.

Social media chancers got away with this for years. Good that traditional media - those who do the hard grafting (reporting) - is pushing back. If AI yahoos have to acknowledge/pay for using copyrighted content, then their 'business model' will go south and the AI bubble will become more farcical.
