Children receiving social security until 18 because of the death of a parent is very common…. ITS BASED ON THE PAYMENTS THE DEAD PARENT PAID. It’s SOCIAL SECURITY INSURANCE….. it’s not free it was paid in to a trust just in case…. You know how life insurance works.
