I'm continuing to enjoy the ongoing Dark Souls manga, despite its extremely tenuous connection to the actual game series. It's hard to say what I like most, but the art and the atmosphere are really doing it for me. Just don't expect any lore revelations about Gwyn or Vendrick or Ludleth or whoever.

I cannot describe the revulsion that adverts like this one make me feel. I'm not a huge fan of "banter" at the best of times, but outsourcing your jolly japes to a witless slop-bot feels completely abhorrent to me.

I found a local group that plays #BloodontheClocktower and popped my proverbial cherry with 4 rounds of Trouble Brewing over the weekend. I pulled the Imp token out of the bag TWICE, in four games. Being the demon is quite stressful for a newbie - but fun.

Anyway, I just treated myself to a fancy new board game, even though board games are obviously for NERDS I'll either have to invite some friends over, or teach Barney how to play.

Talisman (5th Edition), a "magical quest" board game. Set out on a table that isn't my table. A fantasy landscape on the board, cards with spells and creatures on them, little plastic figurines. Wholesome nerd shit.

Another throwback FPS I recently grabbed for a few quid is Wrath: Aeon of Ruin. It's a solid enough game, and made with a lot of love for the genre, but sadly the console port is a shoddy, janky, undercooked mess. Missing sound effects, glitchy textures, sub-par UI, and the occasional softlock.
