I love the east coast main line north of Newcastle.

It seems our recent ancestors were less concerned about building on top of burial grounds. 61 skeletons have been discovered under a roundabout in the centre of Peterborough (link to news below) in Biggleswade the 1969 telephone exchange was built over ... (Pic @katharinehillphoto.bsky.social )

When family history entwines with world history. I felt privileged to tell the story of my Great Grandmother's death in WW2. She was killed by a doodlebug the day before US band leader Glenn MIller arrived in London. He soon left for Bedford because of the doodlebug flying bombs.

I have a question for you. Do you prefer your podcasts audio only or do you enjoy watching podcasts too? I'm not going to be making weird in the wade a video podcast; I don't have the time, expertise or money to do that. I prefer to listen but wondered what my listeners thought!

Have you heard of the Biddenham White Rabbit? I stumbled across this as one report claims this rabbit was paraded through Biddenham, Bedfordshire on 22nd September. But on closer research I discovered that all is not as it seems with this tale. 1/3

Today's episode is about aviation mysteries but includes a section about London being terrorised by doodlebug bombs in June 1944. I share some family history and the sound of the V1 rockets you'll hear are real archive footage from 1944. The image is of a V rocket that crashed in France.

On Friday I spotted half a fairy circle of fungi on my way into town. It's not the best picture. I'm hoping there might be a full circle when I walk past today. Has anyone else started to see fungi now that we've had some rain? I do love all the myths about fairy circles and toadstools.

I’ve seen a few posts lately about AI designs. They compare an AI flyer or design with one a real person has designed. Now I try wherever possible to not use AI. I pay a friend to design my show posters etc. but I noticed something in these posts. The AI designs were more accessible. 1/2
