🚒 Fire! 🚒 I'm looking for a fire fighter to chat with me for the podcast, it can be anonymously. It's about why spontaneous human combustion was such a fear in the 1970s and 80s and why we now know that it isn't really a thing. If you're interested please get in touch details are in my bio! Thanks

Reflections
A seaside village viewed from a wet sandy beach at low tide, with colorful houses, a church and a stone viaduct reflected in the shallow water. Red-roofed white cottages sit on the left, a cream-colored multi-story building stands in the center, and a gray-roofed stone church with a small domed bell tower is on the right. A stone sea wall and a pile of dark rocks line the shore beneath a bright blue sky with scattered white clouds.

I love the east coast main line north of Newcastle.
A green tractor ploughs a dark, freshly turned field in the foreground while gulls swirl behind it. Beyond the field, a tidal river winds across mudflats toward a small coastal town with colourful terraced houses and a church spire, with a wooded hill and a stone arched bridge to the left. The sea lies on the horizon under a deep blue sky with wispy clouds and a large white cloud at top right.

When family history entwines with world history. I felt privileged to tell the story of my Great Grandmother's death in WW2. She was killed by a doodlebug the day before US band leader Glenn MIller arrived in London. He soon left for Bedford because of the doodlebug flying bombs.

It was claimed that the tradition dated back to 1096. But it seems that the C19 folklorist collecting customs was tricked by two Biddenham residents into believing this was an ancient custom. It was in fact an elaborate hoax! biddenham.org.uk/the-biddenha... 3/3

Heading back to Biggleswade but here are some photos from South Lincolnshire
A gnarled tree with branching trunk with soft sunlight on it. Next to it is a grave stone. A white door with a steps up to it surrounded by flowers in pots, in hanging baskets and there is a flower wreath on the door. A yellow black eye Susan flower with a soft vibrant green behind it and a blurry tomb of stone in the distance. A brown vase with a spiral pattern on it with artificial poppies in it. Soft light through a church window shines through the petals.
