I am fetching reads from cram files in Rust, using rust-htslib and a rayon thread pool. It surprises me that memory use is flat up to 5 threads, but then takes off linearly. Does anyone have a clue what is going on? @robp.bsky.social @johanneskoester.bsky.social Code: github.com/wdecoster/in...

I have made a new release of kyber, a tool to make a quick sketch of your long-read sequencing data or to compare multiple datasets. It uses a fixed grid of accuracy and read length. Now also supports ubam - feedback appreciated! github.com/wdecoster/ky...
