Suppose we’ll never know; hard to tell, but i think this label by the artist doesn’t provide any answers(?)

A zoom in on a part of the painting with writing (in Latin?), appearing to have been signed by the artist.

I didn’t say they were fake, i said they were beautiful. (I think my q came as a result of having read a recent Guardian Australia article abt the subject, and so my mind took me to wondering about practices where you are.) Really nothing meant by it. I love your content.

So, what would this have signified?

A close-up of the referenced painting’s middle lhs showing a scaffold with what appears to be a sign immediately above a set of stairs that lead from the river wall down to the frozen river. Perhaps the juxtaposition of the sign with the stairs suggests a connection?

Thank you. Sorry to hear about the noise. At least our raccoons are usually quiet.

Gasp. Isn’t that the Enterprise phasing in and out of our universe?!

I enlarged a part of the spectacular new image Melina has produced and it looks to me like the saucer section and warp nacelles of the Enterprise, along with a ghostly body/engineering section.

We’ve had the pleasure of watching a Pileated Woodpecker busily at work demolishing part of a neighbour’s tree over the past 36 hours.

An image of a large (18”) woodpecker with a red cap with white and largely black body plumage momentarily taking a break from its task to admire its work-in-progress.

I expect @sdetectorist.bsky.social could add more about Celtic coin depictions.

So contours and (now rubbed-out) chalk possibly like this originally in shape.

Criminally amateurish red marker overlaying the Uffington White Horse so that it now has 4 proportional legs, a body and a full head (plus the “old” small head now looks like an eye!)

Then, in searching for studies, i came across this picture.

An older aerial view of the Uffington White Horse in black and white.

Omg i’m such an idiot. I’ve honestly never heard of this “Moby” before (beyond Melville of course). Will check out his music probably starting with his biggest hit (assuming he’s not an “oneider” (ref That Thing You Do).

This is a picture of a smiling, baby-faced Moby who is NOT wearing glasses. He does not resemble Gregg Wallace in any way, in my opinion, nor does the latter resemble a whale. My apologies to all concerned.

A complicated set of #cropmarks with a possible #roundhouse at upper left?

Yes, i know it’s a picture of dust devil tracks on Mars.

It’s clearly both surprised and delighted to see you (with a wonderful gap-toothed smile)! 😀👍
