Like many Okanagan wineries in the 2024 vintage, 1 Mill Road Winery didn’t have a commercial crop from its Naramata vineyards or any of the blocks under contract in other parts of the valley. Subzero temperatures in January wiped out the harvest. A detour resulted. open.substack.com/pub/waterson...

Between 2024 and 2025, US wine exports declined 33.5%—the steepest single-year drop in recent decades. Import spending fell as well, but by a far smaller margin.
