Democrats are shining a spotlight on cruelty and massive waste of taxpayer dollars at Florida's ICE facilities. We forced them to shut down Alligator Alcatraz and improve conditions in Miramar, and we won't stop there. I'll keep fighting to end ICE cruelty.

Glad to join Mayor Dean Trantalis and Fort Lauderdale residents at this year's State of the City address! The city’s progress in the past year, from public safety to infrastructure, is impressive. I look forward to working with the Mayor and City Commission in the year ahead!

There are major changes coming to Medicaid because of the Republican Big Ugly Law. I want to make sure you know what's changing, and what you need to do.

A whistleblower told us that ICE detained hundreds of people in a garage and chained them overnight in Miramar, flagrantly violating a court order banning them from holding people longer than 12 hours. This treatment—without due process—is torture. We must keep fighting back.

This is a pointless policy change designed to punish hardworking TSA agents. It will slow down security lines and needlessly distract frontline security officers. We shouldn't make it harder for federal workers to keep us safe from threats.

I conducted another surprise inspection of the Miramar ICE facility after horrifying reports from a whistleblower last week. I saw slight improvements due to our oversight and advocacy, but we must keep the pressure on. Makeshift detention centers like this should not exist.

Glad to join Chief Schultz at the new Fort Lauderdale police headquarters and learn how the new facility helps them better serve the city. I'll always ensure first responders have what they need to keep Broward safe, like the $1M I secured for a public safety training facility.

So proud that my EARLY Act passed the Senate last night! This bill will continue to help young women and those at higher risk catch breast cancer early, and improve their chances of beating it. As a breast cancer survivor, I know how critical early detection is.

Instead of demanding elections in Venezuela, Trump is stealing their oil, propping up Delcy, and subjecting law-abiding Venezuelans to brutality and torture. We must restore TPS to protect our neighbors from this Trump-backed regime & fight for a real democratic transition.

Trump cut $7.5 billion in SNAP and healthcare investments for Floridians so he can fund ICE cruelty. That's over half a million people who will lose insurance, 33,000 jobs lost, and 9 hospitals closed. I'm fighting to ensure tax dollars make life more affordable, not less.

SCOTUS wisely blocked Trump’s USPS scheme to block mail-in ballots, but his other goal was to shake voters' faith in a popular voting method. Courts must still stop his push to enact it in 2028. We must relentlessly defend voting rights.
