I have so many fond memories at the mall playing indie games like Enigmo, Bugdom, and Cro-Mag Rally back in the day. I can only imagine that there are now kids (and adults 😉) out there playing @blackboxpuzzles.bsky.social for the first time, having those same moments with something I made. So cool.

As a kid, whenever we went to the Apple Store I always ran to the back to play the demo games on the iMacs. Now many years later, in an absolutely crazy, full-circle, bucket-list moment, my own game is one of those demo games on thousands of iPads in hundreds of Apple Stores around the world.

(For the record I think the project of SwiftUI is incredible and should be celebrated. What I am incredibly defiant of is the writing on the wall that says we will all eventually be corralled out of UIKit like cattle into a tiny, boring pen that is far from production ready.

This is also my first SwiftUI app! I’m constantly amazed at how incredibly easy SwiftUI makes most things and how incredibly hard it makes the rest 😆 I’ve also always shied away from using any server infrastructure but @robertlong.me built and abstracted it all away beautifully! 😇👌
