Today I did a talk to a group 1,000's of miles away in the US. I tried to use this nice backdrop but someone has coloured on it. Oh well, maybe they'll think it's the northern lights, at this time of year, at this time of day, located specifically in this picture.. ...reference too niche? #selfie

Prepping for my talk to a school in the US. I stand infront of my backdrop in a black fleece with cream checked shirt. The back drop is a beautiful image of the moorland meeting the sea. But it has messy colouring on the top half where its been used as a table cloth!

A Large Red #Damselfly. I've not been keeping my eyes peeled for these all year & a lovely beast comes & poses when I least expect. You can see the ocellus slap bang in the middle of the head. This eye helps with light detection so they know what is up, down, or a shadowy tree... #critter #macro

Interesting lesson on the moorland walk today when this lizard ran up my leg. Managed to get it in my hand and show everyone. It posed happily on my arm for a while as I told the pupils all about it...

A common lizard sits patiently in my hand shortly before I release back in to the rushes. It is an olive green with a speckled black pattern down its back. The tail is a very dark green.

#Sunrise on the #moor. My morning run takes me up to a trig point on the moors. This concrete pillar marks the highest point on this particular rigg (hill between dales). It used to be used for triangulation in mapping. It's now my leaning pillar. #moorland #landscapephotography #cloudporn

Nothing quite like sunrise on the moorland. Being out and smelling the air, feeling the wind on your face, hearing the sound of the birds. Not a soul to be seen.... other than deer, stoats, birds and obviously the Swaledale 🐏 #natureconnection #mindfulness #sunrise #Yorkshire #moorland #sheep

Patches of marsh are highlighted with the yellowing marsh grass, sedge and rush. The distant hills of the North York Moors are still silhouetted against the morning horizon.
