Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 09/09/2026The new iPhone is going to start at €1300 in Europe. Good lord. 000
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 09/09/2026Take a shot every time you see the “not available in EU and China” text 000
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 08/06/2026That liquid glass slider is going on the most translucent setting possible, as god intended 021
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 08/06/2026Casual reminder that iPhone Mirroring is still not available in the EU 020
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 08/06/2026They fixed the design of tool and side bars on macOS. That alone deserve a hallelujah. Outside of that, can't wait to experience the full version of this when Siri AI lands in Europe somewhere mid 2027 020
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 08/06/2026I don’t know why I even get excited for WWDC anymore when they always hit you with the “not available in the EU” only to release a full year later, with no change. 020
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 04/03/20268GB of RAM is enough for a machine that does web browsing and text editing/running office suites. 000
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 02/10/2025Claude Sonnet 4.5 is..surprisingly good at creating Custom SwiftUI views. I'm creating an app for self-use to help me with Intermittent fasting (s/o to @lascorbe.bsky.social , your talk was inspirational), and it made something useable. You can indeed, just make things (copyright @steipete.me) 020

Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 08/08/2025no ones safe, on one of the latest one even the lyft driver that declined the ride got sentenced 010
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 24/06/2025It will at least make for interesting WWDCs to come. I think design evolution is some of the most interesting stuff because it reflects their thinking and learnings of the UX over time, so I'm excited to see where exactly this shakes out. 010
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 24/06/2025It will be unfinished for a time, yet. I remember feeling like iOS 7's visual identity didn't feel consistent or polished yet until iOS 9 or 10 at the latest. We're in for a bit of a ride. 110
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 14/06/2025Its gone under the radar but the additions to SF Symbols is huge. 030
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 12/06/2025Marking the error as non isolated works! Thanks a bunch. I prefer it that way, as I want to play around with default isolation, Approachable Concurrency mode, and get a feel of where this is all headed. 130
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 12/06/2025I had this problem in a way more insidious place, my tests: bsky.app/profile/waly... I still never figured out how to *actually* make it work, but setting the default actor to `nonisolated` at least makes them compile without warnings or errors now. 130
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 12/06/2025Of course, right as I post it, the solution presents itself! bsky.app/profile/manu... 010
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 12/06/2025I'm writing a small app that uses HealthKit, which all works fine, but Swift Testing is giving me a bit of trouble.. does anyone know what the solution is here? I'm stumped #swiftlang 130
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 12/06/2025The additions to SF Symbols this year are bonkers. *Highly* recommend that session. 010

Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 10/06/2025Yep. Could care less about Siri, this is the stuff that will have big impact overall. 000
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 10/06/2025It really does. I think in some situations, though, especially when this material has text in it, it's very hard to read, might need some tweaks, but I really do like the overall effect. 000
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 10/06/2025You are talking about machines that are...6 years old at the *youngest*, and will continue to work fine afterwards. Not sure how this is relevant. 010
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 09/06/2025I feel this problem becomes really glaring in Light Mode, Dark Mode I'd say is alright since it's inherently more contrast-y. 110
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 09/06/2025The new design language feels more at home on touchscreens than on let's say, a desktop, but we'll see! 000
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 09/06/2025Years of saying that Apple’s current design lost whimsy and when its back, were immediately like this 😛 020
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 09/06/2025I really, really like the new app icons. Especially Camera, is so so good. 000
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 09/06/2025The unified tab view in Safari for Mac is gone. I'm sad. I know I was probably the only person using it, but still. 000
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 09/06/2025Apple clearly doesn't believe that these things are in the benefit of its platform, though, and will not do them unless forced by legislation. Developers will have to feel comfortable with that. 110
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 09/06/2025There is never anything about DevRel in the main keynote. You might catch a whiff in the SOTU, but this highly produced keynote is for the press and general populace at large. 110
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 09/06/2025Apple finally caved in with the windowing system for iPad, huh? 000
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 09/06/2025The only thing I’m not super sold on is that new Finder icon.. maybe it’ll grow on me. 000
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 07/06/2025Hooking up with dudes gave me trauma, but it’s not generational if you can’t pass it down! 040
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 03/06/2025That rule is a (mostly ineffective) deterrent, there is no way, in today’s world of server-based push notifications, to actually enforce that. 110
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 31/05/2025I feel this.. I've wanted to go to WWDC for a while, and finally have a job that can support me to do so, but I don't want to gamble flying to the US and getting imprisoned for nothing.. having to write off 4 years of WWDC really sucks :( 020
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 19/03/2025I think Pedro Pascal might be the problem here. FKA Twigs is just as big of a reason why that 2018 ad is so good. 000
Waly Kerkeboom @waly.me · 05/03/2025You have to add "..by Kendrick Lamar" for Siri to understand the context. Ah, well. 000
