Say hello to Apple Music Hall

Apple today published a new YouTube playlist aimed at helping developers prepare their apps for the iPhone Duo, its first foldable iPhone. The "Get ready for iPhone Duo" playlist, published on the Apple Developer YouTube channel, is described by Apple as a guide to help developers "prepare your apps for launch on iPhone Duo." It contains six videos: "Design for iPhone Duo," "Prepare your app for iPhone Duo," "Raise the bar with iPhone Duo," "Strike a pose with adaptive layouts on iPhone Duo," "Leverage multiple displays and scenes on iPhone Duo," and "Build a great camera experience for iPhone Duo." The iPhone Duo features a number of special software features. Essential controls have moved to the sides of the display to sit within thumb's reach, the Home Screen dock is now oriented vertically, and the status bar has been redesigned to fit into the corner of the display. Software transitions between the outer and inner displays as the device opens, with controls staying in a consistent position while content scales up. The iPhone Duo starts at $1,999 for 256GB, with storage options going up to 2TB. Preorders begin October 16, with availability starting October 23.Related Roundup: iPhone Fold This article, "Apple Publishes Developer Video Series for iPhone Duo" first appeared on MacRumors.com Discuss this article in our forums

Behind today's iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo announcements, Apple has raised the prices of the existing iPhone 16, iPhone 17, iPhone Air, and iPhone 17e on its online store. The new starting prices for the three models now look like this: * iPhone 16: $799 (+$100) * iPhone 17e: $699 (+$100) * iPhone 17: $899 (+$100) * iPhone Air: $1099 (+$100) So that's a $100 price hike on all four existing models in Apple's iPhone lineup. With the debut of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, Apple has discontinued the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Prior to today's iPhone event, there was growing speculation that Apple may hike the prices of its iPhone 17 lineup when new iPhone 18 Pro models launch in September, especially following CEO Tim Cook's recent comments about "unavoidable" price increases. In late June, Cook told The Wall Street Journal that Apple is no longer able to absorb the increased cost of memory and storage chips, both of which are in high demand from AI and neocloud companies as they continue to build more data centers. The scale of the AI infrastructure buildout has prompted debate over whether demand will ultimately justify the hundreds of billions of dollars being invested, but for now it is helping to drive supply constraints across the semiconductor industry. Cook likened the memory shortages to a hundred-year flood. "I've never seen anything like it in any area in over 40 years," he said.Related Roundups: iPhone 16, iPhone 17, iPhone 17e, iPhone AirTag: September 2026 Apple EventBuyer's Guide: iPhone 17 (Neutral), iPhone 17e (Neutral), iPhone Air (Neutral)Related Forum: iPhone This article, "Apple Raises Prices of iPhone 16, iPhone 17, iPhone Air, and iPhone 17e" first appeared on MacRumors.com Discuss this article in our forums

Apple today started selling new accessories for its Vision Pro headset, including the Logitech Muse and Dual Knit Band, with more on the way. The Logitech Muse is a spatially-tracked stylus developed for use with the ‌Vision Pro‌. It was announced at WWDC earlier this year. The Muse is intended to support the next generation of spatial computing workflows enabled by visionOS 26. The device incorporates six degrees of freedom (6DoF) tracking, pressure-sensitive tips, and real-time haptic feedback to allow users to interact with digital environments through precise input and tactile realism. Logitech Muse is a spatial accessory designed to enhance the way you work, create, and collaborate with Apple Vision Pro. Muse combines a familiar form factor with advanced technology, offering a precise, immersive workflow in both productivity and creativity apps. Seamless motion tracking in six degrees of freedom with intuitive controls allows you to draw, annotate, and interact naturally in space. Real-time haptic responses add textural realism to create a truly engaging experience. A pressure-sensitive tip and force-sensing button allow you to vary line thickness whether drawing on a surface or in the air. According to Logitech, Muse is intended for use across a wide range of spatial computing applications, including 3D design, collaborative workspaces, and immersive visualization tools. The device features both physical buttons and gesture controls. The Logitech Muse costs $129.95 and is now available from Apple. Apple's new Dual Knit Band for the Vision Pro is also now available for $99. It comes with the new Vision Pro with the M5 chip, but is available separately and compatible with the M2 Vision Pro. Designed for Apple Vision Pro, the Dual Knit Band provides lasting comfort and stability — with soft, breathable upper and lower straps and a counterbalanced design. Its dual-function Fit Dial makes it easy to adjust each strap independently for a personalized fit. The Dual Knit Band attaches to the Audio Straps with a simple and secure mechanism, and release tabs allow you to quickly detach it when needed. In addition, Apple today confirmed that the PlayStation VR2 Sense controller and Controller Charging Station will be available for $249.95 from the Apple Store online in the U.S. beginning Tuesday, November 11.Related Roundup: Apple Vision ProTag: LogitechBuyer's Guide: Vision Pro (Buy Now)Related Forum: Apple Vision Pro This article, "Two New Accessories for Vision Pro Now Available, With More Coming" first appeared on MacRumors.com Discuss this article in our forums

Apple created a unique interactive Apple logo for its September 9 event, which can be interacted with on the main Apple.com website. The website currently features an animated Apple logo front and center, which changes when touched. On an iPhone or an iPad, holding a finger over the Apple logo shifts it to a darker orange the longer you hold, and when swiping, the colors will change and follow your finger. On the Mac, you can use a mouse or a trackpad for the same effect. The Apple logo for the "Awe Dropping" event is designed to look like a thermal map or the output that you might see on a thermal camera. The colors change from shades of blue to shades of orange, perhaps a nod to the new ‌iPhone‌ colors that are expected. Apple used to do interactive augmented reality Apple logo designs that could be projected into the room with you, but the company stopped doing that in 2023. Since then, Apple has created animated Apple logos, some of which can be interacted with on the Apple.com website. The upcoming September 9 event will see Apple unveiling new iPhones and Apple Watch models, and perhaps a new version of the AirPods Pro. It's set to take place at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time.Tag: September 2025 Apple Event This article, "Apple Designed Interactive Logo for September 9 Event" first appeared on MacRumors.com Discuss this article in our forums
