As you organize around these issues, there is a role for the deeply informed question asker, for sure. The person who read the research and looked up the campaign donations. But there are many more accessible roles for the people can just show up and keep asking, “how” without losing their shit.

the thing about my student loan debt: I was fortunate to have a great outcome and there should be better ways for people who grew up in trailer parks to get PhDs. Trying to get all the education you can get is not a moral failing.

We provided (and advertised!!) licenses for a QDA software since 2022. We canceled the expensive subscription (~10% of our budget) this summer because no one used it. I’ve gotten six requests this month alone.

Realistic Faculty Update in 2026 Submitted 27 grants. None were awarded due to the flood of AI authored apps. -Regiewed 15 articles for journals. 10 of them had hallucinated information or false citations -of the 45 reference interviews conducted, more than half were fixing Generative AI problems.
