People only actually like three Fleetwood Mac albums. They like the idea of Tusk but essentially just want the hits. Rumours is a totem of excess, a prop and a symbol bought from Urban Outfitters. They’ve actually made 18 albums, so claiming to be a fan of them in general seems daft.

the Proclaimers album went in at 86. Their lowest position ever. I'm not suggesting that all that business affected it, but it was a staggeringly poor week for releases and also actual fans would have bought it irrespective of some interview. Basically, all the new people courted don't buy records.
