Even as a six year old, when asked what singles I wanted for my 7th birthday, I went for the Jaws theme, Couldn't Get It Right and Howzat when I really wanted to say "ABBA! DANCING QUEEN!" while twirling. Then when I went to buy my first single they didn't have Dancing Queen because homophobia.

1994 As part of my media course, I have to do work experience. At 24 I feel like a pensioner, but get offered a week at Melody Maker. They ask me back again. And again. And again. Then Vox offer me a job while I’m at uni. My tutor insists I take it because it’s all I’ve ever wanted to do.
