god I wish I could recommend the Homestar Runner card game, but it's kind of a hot mess rulebook issues aside (not usable as-is, only some issues are corrected in the digital version), you just kinda pass around cards until someone's pants are just too full of incriminating evidence and they lose

that splatoon raiders game is really something, or more accurately a lot of little things feels less like a traditional looter shooter and more like a super abridged Monster Hunter, but minus crafting? problem is I'm not 100% sure the progression and structure fully gel for me. still fun though!

played the new @solisgamestudio.bsky.social release, Six-Sided Seas. 2p push your luck with just a bit more decision space than most of those. 3 win conditions (money, glory, violence) seems like a lot, but the game is a whole 20 mins so it doesn't overwhelm. super charming, fits in a playmat tube!

Six-Sided Seas in play. There are dice on ship spaces, as well as two islands I took over. My ship is on 2/10 HP, but I plundered so much that I won by a hair, which is good bc I was super dead next turn.

played and enjoyed the new addition of Samurai, Hanami! the game is as excellent as ever, but I question these power cards. they're wildly uneven in power, and one (pictured) doesn't even work as-is (there aren't 1 power player tiles in those types) happy with the game but will be ignoring those

The absolute bottom of the deckbuilding barrel, held up purely by VS's trademark slot machine visuals and audio. Gameplay consists of counting up from 0. No, I am not exaggerating. You play a 0 cost card, then a 1, then a 2, and the fight is over. In the event of the fight not being over bc you're fighting the optional or floor boss, congrats, you get to continue demonstrating the skills you established beating Elmo's Number Journey. Play long enough and the game starts giving you relics that offer basic quality of life options previously withheld, as well as permanent stat boosts so that even the most innumerate players can eventually bash their heads through it.

What in the fuck is this? Why is this? This is adult CocomeIon, playable wallpaper. Is this intended for streamers? I strongly feel that this is an insult to card gaming itself. The nerve of this thing to release the same year as Slay the Spire 2, which is currently getting review bombed for adding a boss that requires you to read a sentence explaining its mechanic in order to beat it. Christ on a cross.

this took more effort than I anticipated. Thief had Art Direction until I remembered Baroque was technically '98, rest were pretty easy. Tekken 3 getting snubbed is a heartbreaker but Gauntlet is just perfect at what it does

For what it’s worth I played DC2 immediately after and enjoyed it greatly. Glad they figured it out eventually!

the game may be a bit dodgy performance-wise, but there is literally no part of High on Life 2 that hasn't impressed if not blown me away. strong recommendation once patches hit this game may legitimately be an all-timer for me, which is crazy because it's a sequel to fucking High on Life
