Author scam (one of many): ignore invites to the "Kansas City Liberal Minded Book Club" made by Dan O'Connor. The book club is real, the invite is an AI scam trying to get authors to pay for an appearance.

Dolly Parton took control of her career by making men the butt of the joke
Whether ad-libbing her way through a duet or joking about her glamorous image, Parton turned sexist assumptions into a source of power.

Of course NYC and downstate results take up a lot of air around election talk. But if you wonder about a smaller rust belt city in New York State, the DSA candidate won the state assembly primary (and therefore like the seat) over a Democratic candidate supported by online sports betting PACs.

Does anyone know of any grassroots radical political groups that focus on organizing disabled folks/disability justice? Could also be support groups too. Would be great if they were based in Philly, NYC, or NJ, but they don’t have to be. Please share!

All of the lessons that The Biggest Loser taught—from disordered eating to ruthless self talk—all of that came because we culturally thought it was beneficial & entertaining to abuse fat people. Anti-fat bigotry was the spoonful of sugar that helped the medicine go down. It was a feature, not a bug.
