stopped studying math ages ago and still kinda catching up with the drama, but the navier-stokes stuff has me a tad depressed today. concerning for the future math research ecosystem, but mainly I don't want to live in a world where intellectual labor is made an adjunct to fixed capital in this way

This stuff is so infuriating. As a young person figuring this stuff out not once did someone suggest to me I might be trans. but once I came out as trans people *repeatedly* suggested to me that I might just be a feminine gay boy or nonbinary or something less extreme. as if we were negotiating

it's a simplification but i still like to think that the reading of a novel is a quite developed and complex relationship between two people. if one of them is AI, that's a relationship of some kind. but it doesn't seem especially appealing even if your aim is just to find something to beat off to
