Brown Brothers Media has halted publication at its wide-ranging AI-powered content farm empire -- for now, at least.
![Back before the advent of generative AI, BBM relied largely on human writers in the Philippines and other lower-income countries to produce content for its network. One former contractor told us that she had always dreamed of being a writer, so she was delighted to get a gig at the company in 2022 — before the global AI explosion that would later consume BBM — because it was an opportunity to be paid for doing what she loved.
