23 major news outlets, including The New York Times and USA Today, are now blocking the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine from saving copies of their articles.

They are doing this because they do not want AI companies to use the archived pages to train large language models.

This surely protects their content from scraping, it also limits public access to historical news records.

It makes it harder to track how stories change over time and preserving journalism

I’m on the Visible+ Pro ($45) plan from Visible by Verizon (their highest tier), and recently my speeds dropped to a consistent ~1.5 Mbps.

At first I thought it was congestion, but it was happening all the time on UW, 5G, and LTE.

So I contacted support, and they told me:

After ~400GB of usage, the system applies “consistent speed management”

This is automatic and based only on usage

It is not due to any violation or misuse

It cannot be removed manually

It lasts for the rest of the billing cycle

They confirmed all of this in chat (I have screenshots).

So in practice, this behaves like a soft cap, even though the plan is marketed as “unlimited.”

To be clear:

No hotspot or tethering

Just normal phone usage (streaming, apps, browsing)

Nothing outside typical use

I understand network management, but this feels very different from normal deprioritization. Being locked around ~1.5 Mbps 24/7 seems more like a fixed limit once you hit a certain threshold.

Also, I haven’t been able to find anywhere in the plan details where this ~400GB behavior is clearly disclosed.

Not trying to rant, just sharing what support told me so others know what to expect.

Requirements:
Super Smash Bros. Melee
A homebrew-enabled, backwards compatible Wii
SD card or USB stick
GameCube Memory Manager
Instructions:
Check the inner ring on the shiny side of the disc.
Copy the matching save file and a homebrew's to the MCBACKUP folder.
Load GCMM.
(Optional) Backup your memory card.
Restore both save files.
Start the game.
Go to VS. Mode and Name Entry.
FAQ:
How do I convert existing homebrew?
Rename it "boot.dol" and use the supplied dol2gci tool in a command prompt.
I have a Memory Card 59 and the SD Card Adapter. Can I load Swiss?
Yes. Put it as "boot.dol" on the SD card.
I have a Memory Card 251 or larger. Can I load Swiss?

Smash Stack
Smash Stack is an exploit found by comex in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Unlike the other game-based exploits, it does not use a modified save file to be executed. Instead, it is based on the SD card loading function from the Stage Builder.

This guide can be used on any Wii console or on the WiiU virtual Wii mode.

If you are softmodding a Wii, you can use another exploit (see hacking guide) to softmod without needing Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Required

SD card (≤ 2GB, not SDHC) formatted as FAT32. (The game, and therefore the exploit, can only read SD cards, not SDHC)
