If the Dems win the Senate I'd bet good money that Alito and maybe also Thomas retire before the new term

Also, season 1 was 1999-2000 so that seems like it should squeak in there

Also the narrator of the audiobooks is fantastic if that's your jam. And the side novellas are also worth it (Gods of Risk and Strange Dogs are covered by the show but the rest aren't). Finally, the authors' new Captive's War series is fantastic so far.

I'll also say that if you enjoyed the show of the expanse, it's really easy to pick up where you left off and get the conclusion with the last 3 books. The plot differences are minor enough that it's pretty seamless. There's one major character difference but after you get past that it's fine.

It's not GOOD per say, but it's pretty fascinating to watch the Chinese version of 3 Body Problem which was on Amazon last I checked. Much slower, but also a more literal adaptation and neat to see that alt version in a more true to the book setting.

Retired exercise shoes that you already have. Play time's over. Time to put those shoes to work.

Or Working Designs wanted to change it from Ares and then said "hey let's just name him after the development studio since it's pretty close already". Seems in character for their translation staff.

Lars is only bad on bad Metallica records. He's good on the great ones. The soul of rock music is the rhythm. You can't have a great record with bad drums.

Either the cure have a good drummer, or they're not a great band. Sorry, I don't make the rules.

There are no great rock bands with bad drummers.

Admittedly "make lightning strike twice with another fresh spin on a played out genre" is a tall order....

I'm torn on this. Loved the show and want them putting out more great material like it; but it told a complete story and I'm not sure if there was somewhere interesting the could go from the conclusion. I'd personally rather they kept the creative team but had them make something else, equally good.

My understanding of it isn't just that he lost when he was ahead. It's that he was very ahead, opponent the last 1% of life bar, unleashed a super move, and the counter his opponent did was so difficult (one very hard parry for each frame of the kick) that almost no one could do it. Legendary upset.

ESPECIALLY with Zelda. Pre BOTW (or I guess pre-ALBW) so many of them had vaguely similar plot and progression structures - the system limits and quirks were a lot of what differentiated them.

Also a buddy of mine recommended Stormy Mondays in Yokohama but I think that's more of a jazz fusion club.

If it was the DS version specifically, it might also be the "playing with a stylus makes any turn-based brain game better" factor. Secret ingredient to the DS charm.
