Yes, and addictively so, I found. Silent War has that push-your-luck aspect that so well fits submarine games (The Hunters and Silent Victory included). You just found that juicy enemy convoy, but how long to stick around to hit more targets, each round risking that "Diligent Escort" jumping you?

Play by play I see more 'n' more of the fine nuances of the game. At first you think it's all about the reports, but then you find other ways to gain VP's as well. You learn how to use your assets more effectively and to make use of geography. After everey play I already look forward to the next.

Another play of @volko.bsky.social s "Coast Watchers" by @gmtgames.bsky.social. First time we were going for a 5 turn scenario. Tight game, the Japanese won with 3 points! Managed to do some rescues and flood the islands with CWs, but my opponent was clearing a path good for his OPs. Great game!
